동화 속의 평화로운 나라에
유리공주 살고 있었다.
이런 배경에 늘상 등장하는 마녀는
신기한 마술로 공주를 고통에 빠뜨렸다.
하지만 공주는 모든 어려움을 이기고
멋진 왕자와 결혼을 한다.

동화를 읽을 땐 언제나
내가 왕자였다.
유리공주의 마법을 풀어주고
나의 성으로 함께 갔었다.
동화의 마지막엔 늘
행복이 숨어 있었기에
우리는 숨을 크게 쉴 수 있었다.

동화처럼 살고 싶던 때가 있었다.
내 가슴에 숨겨둔 유리구두를 들고
공주님께 달려가고 싶었다.
나의 공주님은 그 누구도 돌아보지 않다가
내 품에 안기리라 생각했었다.

하지만 꿈은 너무 일찍 깨어지고
나는 단지 동화 속의
배경일 수밖에 없었다는 걸
깨달았을 때, 갑자기
나에게 걸린 마법이 풀리고 나는
동화책 속에서 걸어 나올 수 있었다.

But my dream was shattered too soon.
When I realized that I was nothing more than a backdrop in a fairy tale,
the spell over me was suddenly lifted, and I was able to walk out of the fairytale.
